Little India & Tekka Market has a lot to offer! 

our mindset - TRY every stall at Tekka! haha!!

i've tried vadai, samosas, briyani and curries from many many stalls. 

now, i just zoom in to my favourites!

- sri tifin for vadai, thosai, idly and samosa

- samad's for dum briyani

- chattinad specialists for mutton masala and their own briyani

- aaya indian food stall for masala chicken & indian curry rice

- sivani's for fried chicken & potatoes or indian rice

- shah's for tandoori and naan

- yi jia teochew fish soup (from maxwell market)

- 545 whampoa prawn mee

- economy fried bee hoon from zhu jiao shu shi

- tea halia and mango lassi from AR-Rahman Cafe, the corner stall next to the wet market

we got naan, tandoori chicken, butter chicken from little india. plus mango lassi to go!! woahhhhh!!!

you can read the menu and price if u zoom in!!

ok i got the menu & photo below from the shop's fb page - easier to slowly go thru what to order before i go to the outlet... rather than stand at the stall, squinting & blocking people's way 😂

their fb photo is great! i hv to try to identify the curry so i am more aware of what to order! seriously, i feel like a nuisance standing at the front of the stall trying to read the menu and blocking other customers from ordering🙈

we have been going to tekka market since our first taste of indian food there!

also, tekka has been on my way home from nafa and sota 

or a great place to eat when staying at MBS

years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021...

here are some sights and food from tekka market...

545 whampoa prawn noodles is at tekka

and it's run by the daughter of the original whampoa stall...

tekka teochew fish soup - pomfret and batang fish soups

tekka wet market stall that sells buah keluak and blachan from melacca

my fav economical fried bee hoon stall for breakfast

sivani food - their fried chicken is so good!! their dry potato curry also good!

chettinad specialist - auntie's mutton masala and 

black pepper chicken is good, esp the soft tender mutton!!!

samad's dum briyani reminds me of the old jalan selvi kayu briyani... 

yakader dum briyani is quite close as well but samad's briyani masala has that old memory...

apong, tandoori & naan, masala thosai., idily... omg ... 

too many good ones to choose from!
