(we had yakader mutton dum briyani $6 for lunch but we forgot to take photos haha!!)

we had brocoli, black fungus, enoki mushrooms, baby kailan and instant noodles x2 - paid $9. not sure why, maybe they gave double portions for mushrooms or charged for cooking services?
how is this $9? hmmmm....

we also had beef soup - tender shin beef $4, beef balls $1, total $5
very nice indeed!!! (remember i photographed an uncle eating his beef tendon kuay teow soup??? see sept 2019 food diary!)

dinner - aachi brand chicken briyani, bombay briyani






Bombay Briyani (Aachi brand)

marinade for chicken:
- briyani mix
- garam masala
- salt
- plain yoghurt
- lime juice - x6 limes
- fried onions (bawang goreng)
- ginger garlic paste
- tomato ketchup

frying the curry...
- onions, sliced - x3 - x4 big onions
- green chillis - x5-6
- ginger garlic paste
- tomatoes, 3-4 big, chopped
- cardamon seeds x8
- jeera seeds x2 tbsp

1. fry onions with salt, jeera seeds, cardamon seeds, green chillis, ginger garlic paste
- small to medium heat, at least 15-20min till soft & fragrant

2. fry marinated chicken with a bit of corriander & chinese celery,
add tomatoes if too dry

3. add water and cook till chicken is cooked and gravy is thicker

prepare basmati rice (half cooked)
- basmati rice - washed
- fried onions (bawang goreng)
- fried onion, ginger garlic paste, green chilli mix (see #1 above)
- salt
- pandan leaves

4. cook rice in rice cooker, (half cooked, with less water),
dish out into a bowl before layering briyani rice and curry.

(bottom layer should be a layer of curry gravy)
5. at the bottom of the rice cooker, put the curry chicken with some gravy.
6. add a layer of half cooked rice
7. add chopped corriander, chinese celery and fried onions (bawang goreng)
8. add chicken & curry gravy
9. add layer of half cooked rice
10. add chopped corriander, chinese celery and fried onions (bawang goreng)
11. repeat layers
12. cook in rice cooker

When cooked, mix layers & Serve.

lunch - chicken liver!! cooked indo style - black sauce, sugar, lime, onions, chilli and garlic.

Dinner - Sar Poh Fan - Claypot Chicken Rice
Lunch - Tom yum soup, braised chicken feet with mushrooms

Salted fish, lap cheong, dried mushrooms, stirfried chicken thighs with oyster sauce and ginger
topped with sambal blachan, chopped raw garlic, soya sauce-shaosxing wine mix, chopped coriander leaves & stems
all above ingredients mixed with steamed white rice and further steamed in the claypot/rice cooker
