lunch - indian food from tekka market
(opposite the tandoori stall i always buy from)
masala chicken + 2 veggies $5.50
there was a long queue at this stall...
and since many indians are queueing up, i should try it... again.
i've tried this stall before, months ago when it first opened but wasn't too impressed.
still, the food is good and i remembered that i did enjoy it then.
nonetheless, here i go again...
yup. not outstanding but a VERY good indian meal!

NTUC - my cart - notice there are hardly veggies because i bought loads of veggies on fri.
bought rice, detergent, eggs, salmon fish, sea bass, sting ray, fishballs, fish paste, fish cake,
shabu shabu beef & pork, frozen chicken wings, frozen chicken boneless legs, frozen prata,
4 chickens - 2 small ones (800g each), 1 kampong chicken, 1 large farm chicken

mee pok dry done by an elderly uncle, $2.50!!
next to Aziz family malay rice at telok blangah crescent market
the noodle was done just right but the seasoning is simple and old school.
uncle gave 2 fishballs, lean pork, fish cakes, lard
and 1 fish dumpling with veggies & beansprouts
you gotta appreciate it even if the taste doesn't really stand out...
and it's $2.50.

Sukiyaki Sauce
- light soya sauce
- mirin
- sugar
- shaoxing chinese wine
- fried garlic & garlic oil

home made fish curry - ikan kurau (too soft for curries)
Recipe - Fish Curry
- fish curry powder (alagapal fish curry powder)
- onions
- green chilli
- ginger
- garlic
- curry leaves
- mixed seeds/spices for fish curry
- coriander
- cardamons
- cloves
- cumin
- fennel seeds
- assam water, salt to taste
Homemade beef shin soup with tendon -
$10 shin beef and about $3 tendon
Recipe - Beef Soup - basic
- beef & tendon
- shallots x10 - whole
- garlic x2-3 cloves - whole
- tang gui x2-3 pieces
- red dates x10-15 (remove seeds)
- fish sauce, salt & pepper (white/black pepper), sugar
chilli - chicken rice chilli actually works well Lol
Recipe - Beef Soup with Tendon
shin beef is kinda tough. so we soaked it in water and baking soda for about 1hr before we rinse the beef to slow cook in a crockpot.

- salt, white pepper, black pepper
- light soya sauce, fish sauce
- 8 red shallots, 1 garlic clove
- tang gui x2-3 pcs
- 10 red dates
- rock sugar - about 1 tbsp
beef to season with fried garlic oil and light soya sauce
eat with kuay teow, bean sprouts, kiam chye
topped with chicken rice chilli sauce
and salmon
Recipe - Salmon with Yakitori Sauce
Sauce
- light soya sauce
- sugar/honey
- mirin
- shaoxing wine
- cornstarch & water
1. fry salmon in little oil, skin down
2. add sauce and coat fish in gravy, cook in gravy
3. transfer fish & gravy to over to finish cooking

well, i had the white bee hoon again!
it actually is quite nice. not fantastic. just ok.
the chilli sauce can be better but i guess the white pepper makes up for it...
white bee hoon at telok blangah market for breakfast.
this lot with veggies and fish cake is $2.80
this is the stall next to the fishball noodles with long long queue on 2nd row of market.

the fish costs $3.09 per 100gm.
the 2 pcs here costs $23 (we cut the fish i bought into 2 pcs)
both pcs fit within a 25 inch metal plate

bean sprouts with salted fish, fried/baked salmon with homemade teriyaki sauce, chinese spinach, kiam chye fried with tomatoes (so good!) |

slow cook dried mushrooms with chicken feet
season with salt, white pepper, black sauce, light soya sauce, shaoxing wine, sesame oil, water
we didn't thicken the gravy but that's ok too.
it doesn't look as yummy but the taste is still the same
