- satay - 10 chicken, 10 pork + 2 ketupat

New Year's Eve
morning went to 628 wet market to buy fish - total $37
(no pics of raw fish)
- red snapper $25 for whole fish
cut fish into half - head chopped into half & fillet the tail
- batang $12 for whole fish
wanted to buy saba fish but he sold me a whole batang instead 😡
fish was quite smelly when i brought back but cleaned the meat with loads of salt. then added tumeric/kunyit powder and pan fried... wow, so good. love love love the fish!!! LOL
breakfast - hans sembawang for ham omelette
lunch - leftover chicken stew
dinner - fish head curry using jamie's friend's curry paste
FISH HEAD CURRY
curry paste by jamie's friend (very very good!!!)
fried aromatics in oil...
- ginger - x3 thick slices
- garlic - large x4 sliced
- red onions - medium x3 sliced,
- green chillis, large x4,
- coriander roots x10 or more (frozen, old lot)
- mixed seed/spices, 1 tsp
- salt 1/2 tsp,
then added
- assam water - 1/2 packet (small packet 250g),
- tomatoes, small x4
- brinjals, medium x2,
- ladysfingers x1 packet
(no pics of veggies ugggh)
later added the red snapper and batang fish heads
since i bought 2 whole fishes from the market,
fried 1/2 of the fish
& bones with tumeric and salt...
- fried batang fish fillets x2pcs (1/2 fish)
- fried red snapper x1 fillet tail (1/2 tail)
gotta cook...
- rice, 2 cups
